I ended up missing the parade again this year but oh well. Pops and I headed over to my aunts house around 10am and I brought my pillow with me cause i was in some pain. It's a small pillow that I can put in the microwave and it warms it up and then I can put it on the joints and muscles that are giving me troubles. My sister and her family arrived there about an hour later. My aunt, Nat, usually has some snacks and appetizers laid out on the countertop to enjoy. For some reason though, I wasn't quite in the mood for snacks. I just wanted the real food.
When Sis arrived, my cousins and nephews and niece took off and played while I stayed in the kitchen chatting with Nat, Audra and my older Nephew Ace. The guys played pool and watched football in the game room.
The food was great as always and Audra made fantastic gravy. Let's see what all we had...I know I ate dressing, noodles, corn, green beans, mashed potatoes, lots of gravy over everything, LOTS of rolls with butter (my fave) and of course turkey. I wasn't feeling up to eating any dessert so I went and laid down on the couch after the meal. The Tryptophan in the Turkey took effect and I ended up taking a nap. The kids woke me up though cause I heard them plotting to make a fake spider and throw it on me...which later they ended up doing anyways. If I had been feeling up to it I would have tackled all of them. lol
Audra and Nat spend some time looking at the newspaper adds and deciding on places to go shopping on black friday. I talked to Ace about Devri (spelling?) and what he wants to do. He seemed quite impressed on some of my artwork that I showed him. I'm so proud of him though cause he makes extremely good grades...especially in Trig/maths which is awesome. I'm happy when anyone does well in maths cause I suck at it.
Black Friday was something else. I had to go to bed early which is a pain in the bloody arse if you ask me...just so I could wake up at 2am to leave at 3am to get to work at 4am. The store in my opinion was not organized well and we could have been better prepared. I was set for the register but they only let me work on the register for about an hour. Then I had to fold bags for an hour and help others at the register. The rest of the time was pretty busy. I didn't get a break until 30 min. before leaving...I love my job, don't get me wrong...but there is some things I would definitely change if I was in charge. But I won't go all into it...lets just say, i'm not to happy that I don't get enough hours. Another week of no work is ahead of me which is more worry for me.
Been looking for another part-time job to help out but to no prevail. The economy sux but lets just believe that this next year will be better for all of us.
Did you get up early and go shopping on Black Friday?

Exactly what you say to greet the season is irrelevant, just so long as it's spoken with the passion and sincerity it deserves.
